Verston Eesti awarded contract for state road maintenance in Ida-Viru County

Verston Eesti has signed a five-year contract with the Estonian Transport Administration to provide maintenance services for state roads in Ida-Viru County, Estonia.

As a result of the public procurement, 857 kilometres of state roads will be added to Verston Eesti’s maintenance portfolio from October 2026. This will increase the company’s total maintained road network to approximately 8,220 kilometres, meaning Verston Eesti will be responsible for close to 50% of Estonia’s state road network.

Verston Eesti’s road maintenance operations have grown steadily in recent years. The company currently maintains state roads in West Harju, Järva, Tartu, Lääne-Viru and Võru counties, in cooperation with a partner also in Pärnu County, and provides subcontracted maintenance services in Saare County. Ida-Viru County will now become the next addition to this nationwide network.

Road maintenance is a year-round responsibility that includes winter service, roadside and road surface maintenance, upkeep of traffic management devices, smaller repair works, and rapid response to changing weather and road conditions.

“This is an important responsibility and a clear sign of trust in our maintenance capability,” said Urmas Jõeveer, Head of Road Maintenance at Verston Eesti. “Our focus is on ensuring high service quality, fast response times and well-planned operations in every maintenance area. At the same time, we continue to look for smarter and lower-impact ways to perform this work through more precise planning, efficient use of machinery and fuel-saving operating methods.”

As Estonia’s largest state road maintenance provider, Verston Eesti has made continuous investments into newer and more environmentally efficient maintenance machinery and technologies, aiming to improve operational efficiency while reducing the environmental footprint of road maintenance activities.
